Edward B. Wilson,
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Wilson, co-founder of InnovoMed, Inc., has worked in the delivery of high tech therapies for
diabetes the past 18 years. He previously served as a divisional director of Medtronic, Inc., a medical
technology company, from September 2001 to July 2004. From March 1986 to September 2001, Mr. Wilson held
various positions including divisional director at MiniMed, a medical devices manufacturing and sales
company acquired by Medtronic. Mr. Wilson has held a variety of sales and marketing positions in other
biomedical companies such as Zimmer USA and IMED. Mr. Wilson has played a pioneering role in the
introduction, development, and growth of Insulin Pump Therapy in the United States. Mr. Wilson received
his B.A. degree from the University of Utah in 1971 with dual majors in Biology and German.
Cory M. Bailey,
President and Chief Operating Officer
For the past 12 years, InnovoMed co-founder Mr. Bailey has been a leader of medical technology companies
specializing in high tech therapies for diabetes. From September 2001 through November 2003, Mr. Bailey
served as national and regional sales director for Medtronic, Inc. From February 1992 through September
2001, Mr. Bailey held various leadership positions including national sales director and regional sales
manager at MiniMed, Inc., a medical devices manufacturing and sales company acquired by Medtronic. Mr.
Bailey has held a variety of sales and marketing positions during his 23-year career in the biomedical
industry, including IMED Corporation and Winthrop Laboratories. Mr. Bailey has also played a pioneering
role in the introduction, development, and growth of Insulin Pump Therapy in the United States. He
received his B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Utah in 1981. His postgraduate work
included research in the field of Bio-Electromagnetics investigating the effects of electromagnetic
radiation on human behavior and physiology. Mr. Bailey has co-authored five clinical research papers on
the subject.
David C. Merrick,
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Prior to joining InnovoMed, Mr. Merrick has held many leadership roles in the medical equipment and
therapy industry over the past 33 years. He has trained general and thoracic surgeons in the use of new
surgical instruments, worked with orthopedic surgeons on emerging techniques for prosthetic implants,
assisted cardiologists during the implant of pacemakers and defibrillators, and been integral in the
marketing and implementation of numerous other medical/surgical products for various medical
professionals. Mr. Merrick’s leadership and extensive experience in medical equipment and therapies has
distinguished him throughout his career. He has held management positions with U.S. Surgical Corporation,
IMED Corporation, and Medtronic, Inc. Mr. Merrick attended the University of Washington and was honorably
discharged from the United States Marine Corp in 1970. The perspective gained from his extensive and
diverse experience in the medical marketplace, as well as his strong leadership abilities, make Mr.
Merrick a valuable addition to the InnovoMed executive team.
Michael K. Garey, M.D.,
Vice President of Clinical Affairs
Dr. Garey is a graduate of BYU with a major in Chemistry and received his medical degree from the
Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He served in the United
States Air Force as an Emergency Medicine physician and completed his board certification in Emergency
Medicine in 1997. Dr. Garey was Chairman of the Department of Primary Care and Emergency Medicine at
Keesler Air Force Medical Center (120,000 outpatient visits per year, staff of 56 officers and 95
enlisted personnel) and has served as an instructor for the University of Utah Physician Assistant
Program. He has been a clinical preceptor for the nurse practitioner program at both BYU and
Westminster College.Dr. Garey began practicing hyperbaric medicine and wound care in December 1998
at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah, where he was the medical director for The Utah Center for Wound
Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine for four years; he continues to work there part-time. He also opened the
hyperbaric center at Research Park in Salt Lake City, Utah, and served as the first Director of
Hyperbaric Medicine, coordinating therapies with physicians at the University of Utah Medical Center
and surrounding hospitals.
Greg W. Branin,
Program Director
Prior to joining InnovoMed, Mr. Branin served in the United States Marine Corps and has held several
positions in wound care and hyperbaric medicine including: program director of the Willard Medical
Center Wound Care and HBOT Facility; hyperbaric technician at Lakeview Hospital; and diving safety
officer of Associated Diving and Marine Contractors. In these capacities, Mr. Branin successfully:
opened and managed a hospital-based, wound care and hyperbaric facility; developed and implemented a
comprehensive maintenance program for a multiplace hyperbaric chamber; established a deep mixed-gas
diving program with new techniques for applying decompression tables to divers working at high altitudes;
and installed and refurbished multiplace chambers. His credentials and training include: emergency
medical technician (paramedic level), advanced wound care courses, A.S. in Marine Technology, certified
hyperbaric technologist, advanced diving medical technologist, advanced decompression theory, diabetic
foot care, advanced care for the injured diver, and nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons defense
specialist.
